Are your students challenged by science concepts?
You can help them understand.
I can hand you the best resources – activities, labs, handouts, slide shows – but if I don’t show you how I use these resources, I’m not giving you my best.
CER is Claim, Evidence, Reasoning – and the basis of science. In reality, we want to find out about something. Maybe we need to solve a problem. Maybe we are simply curious.
We ask a question. We find evidence about the question that leads to an answer. We use what we know and sound science practices to evaluate the evidence. We use reasoning to explain how our evidence answers the question.
Blog posts are mostly informal lesson plans. Some are basic strategies for supporting student understanding. You can use the strategies right away, with little planning.
